One of Brendan Rodgers’ first signings upon the club’s promotion to the Premier League was Wayne Routledge, and the winger has impressed at the club ever since. A pacey winger, Routledge burst onto the scene at a young age whilst at Crystal Palace, before he joined Tottenham. Having failed to break into the Spurs starting XI, the Englishman has become somewhat a journeyman having travelled around different clubs, before settling at the Swans.
Despite his previous failings at other clubs, Routledge has found himself right at home with the Swans. He has made over 150 appearances for the club in all competitions as he has settled into the first team at the Liberty. His stellar performances at the start of this season earned him recognition in the media, as some called for an international call-up for the winger.

A winger with an eye for goal, the former Palace winger managed to net three times in the league last season, with his volleyed effort against West Ham at the start of the current campaign.
