Eder Lopez

Eder is Garry Monk’s latest addition to the Swansea City ranks as he looks to replace the gap left by prolific striker Wilfried Bony, after the Ivorian left for Manchester City back in January. Eder becomes the latest forward to join up with the Swans, linking up with other new forward Andre Ayew.

Eder had a successful spell in Portugal with Sporting Braga, netting 10 times in the league last season in 19 starts. However, the striker faces competition for a starting berth next season from Bafetimbi Gomis and Mouda Barrow.

More About Eder Lopez

Eder Lopez joined the Swans for 5 million euros just this summer, but how much do you know about the Swans’ latest recruit?

The 27 year-old is a tall striker, standing at 6 foot 1 and poses a physical threat going up front. The Welsh outfit have often opted for a physical presence up top, with Bony and Gomis similarly posing a threat. However, Eder hasn’t reached the lofty heights of Bony before as he netted just 14 times in all competitions last season, whilst Bony netted nine times in just six months whilst at the Swans last term. The club will be hoping that Eder can find the net as quickly as possible, to lay to rest any fears that the Portuguese striker is a flop.
