Bafetimbi Gomis

Gomis joined the Swans last summer on a free transfer from Lyon, after previously being courted by Newcastle. During his time in Ligue 1, he was a powerhouse up front for Les Gones. He has been in double figures in the goals in all competitions every year since 2006-07, however last season was his worst in goal terms for nine years.

With Saint-Etienne and Lyon, Gomis netted 136 goals in all competitions and came to the club with a reputation as a powerful frontman. However, he struggled for game time with the Swans, and up until January he was second choice behind Bony. But, as the season tailed off, Gomis picked up his act and got in on the goals as he looked to have adjusted to his new surroundings.

More About Bafetimbi Gomis

After arriving at the Swans, Bafetimbi Gomis has netted just 10 times. Want to know more about the Frenchman?

Bafetimbi Gomis managed 31 league appearances in his maiden season in the Premier League, however in 41.9% of those, he was a substitute and therefore goals were hard to come by in the limited time he spent on the pitch. He notched seven league goals, two of which came via his head, a route unfamiliar with the Swans style. His shot accuracy was a measly 44%, which ranks him even lower than Marvin Emnes. He may need to improve his work next season.
