Swansea City 2-0 Stoke City – May 2015
Justice was then done somewhat as Swansea beat Stoke 2-0 in the reverse fixture, with the Potters’ Marc Wilson sent off late on for two yellow cards.
It looked to be heading for a disappointing draw, until Jefferson Montero scored his first and only goal for Swansea to give Monk’s side the lead with just 15 minutes remaining. Ki Sung-Yueng then added the second in injury time against 10-man Stoke.
The 2-0 win was the first time Swansea has tasted victory against Stoke since a 3-1 triumph back in January 2013 – and you can bet this win tasted better than any others in recent times.
Swansea went onto finish in a record-breaking eighth place in the Premier League, after accumulating a superb 56 points.
