Stoke City 2-1 Swansea City – October 2014
Garry Monk and his Swans were back in Stoke-on-Trent eight months later in what turned out to be a very hotly contested game of football.
The match will always be remembered for Victor Moses’ dive which led to a dispatched penalty by Charlie Adam. After the game, Monk told reporters that Moses “cheated” to win the penalty – he certainly wasn’t wrong.
Adam’s spot-kick cancelled out a Wilfried Bony penalty just 10 minutes earlier, as the ref undoubtedly tried to even things out. Jonathan Walters’ bullet header with just 15 minutes remaining earned Stoke an unlikely and undeserved 2-1 victory.
