Swansea City star Gylfi Sigurdsson has no concerns about Swansea’s last three results and has revealed that Garry Monk’s side are ready to “bounce back”.
Swansea started the season like a house on fire, winning two and drawing two of their opening four Premier League games, and seeing off League Two York City in the second round of the Capital One Cup.
Unfortunately, since then, Swansea’s form has hit the buffers somewhat, as they were beaten at Watford, drew at home with Everton and were dumped out the League Cup by Championship side Hull City in midweek.
One player that has struggled to replicate his fine form from last season is midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson. Despite playing a vital role in helping his national side Iceland reach their first ever tournament, the 26-year-old has struggled to make the same impact in the white of Swansea.

Nevertheless, the Iceland international has stressed that there’s nothing to worry about and the Swans will be looking to bounce back against Southampton on the weekend. Speaking after the 1-0 League Cup defeat to Hull City, Sigurdsson said;
“You get that kind of run sometimes… but we’re not conceding many goals at the moment. We’ve just got to make sure we’re ready on Saturday against Southampton.
It’s going to be a tough game and if we bounce back there, we’re alright in the league. There’s always pressure there to win every game and that wouldn’t have changed if we’d won or lost the last two.”
Swansea expertly beat the Saints at St Mary’s last season. Jonjo Shelvey‘s thunderbolt late in the day secured another memorable result last term. How the Swans faithful would love a repeat result and performance like that this Saturday.
