Swansea City 3-1 Hull City – April 2015
A year after disappointingly losing 1-0 in Humberside, this time the Swans welcomed Hull City to the Liberty Stadium in April 2015.
Monk’s troops dominated the game from start to finish, and goals from Ki Sung-Yueng and a Bafetimbi Gomis brace secured another three points over the Tigers. Hull’s Paul McShane pulled one back on 50 minutes to make it 2-1, but David Meyler’s red card just three minutes later put paid to any unlikely Hull comeback.
This result was another step closer to what turned out to be a record-breaking season for the Swans. As for the Tigers, they were relegated back to the second tier of English football after a two-year stay in the Barclays Premier League.
