Swansea City’s new star Andre Ayew has landed the August Player of the Month accolade, ahead of stars from Manchester City and Manchester United.
The winger, who arrived at the Liberty Stadium on a free transfer from Marseille during the summer, has started life in the Premier League superbly. Ayew has already found the net three times, including scoring and providing the killer pass for Bafetimbi Gomis‘ winner against the Red Devils last time out.
The Ghanaian beat the likes of Chris Smalling, David Silva and Rihad Mahrez to the August accolade, and in doing so, topped off what has been a memorable start to life in South Wales. This is what the Twitter world had to say about it;
Ayew deserves the player of the month award (August). Hardwork,focus,dedication, consistency at work. Legend in the making. Cheers brother!

Would've been happier if Silva won player of the month but Ayew deserves it!

Andre Ayew has been brilliant for the Swans. Well deserved player of the month award in his first month in the #BPL.

Ayew definitely deserves that, he's been consistently brilliant!

I think it’s fair to say that Andre Ayew more than deserves his award. His manager was also up for the Manager of the Month accolade, however, Monk lost out to Manchester City’s Manuel Pellegrini.
Nevertheless, it’s been a memorable month for Garry Monk and his Swansea City side. They earned a great point at the home of the champions and they impressively beat Newcastle United and Manchester United.
The Swans make the trip to Hertfordshire this Saturday as they take on Quique Flores’ Watford – Ayew and the rest of the Swansea boys will be looking to maintain their stunning unbeaten start to the season and bring the three points back to the Liberty.
