Former Arsenal and Barcelona star Thierry Henry has revealed that he believes Swansea City’s capture of Andre Ayew on a free from Marseille has to go down as the best Premier League transfer of the summer.
The Ghana international has netted three times if four Premier League outings and he has been without doubt one of Swansea’s standout performers so far. Former player turned Sky Sports pundit Henry reckons Ayew is the signing of the summer. Speaking to the sun, he said;
“I think the signing of the summer could be Swansea’s Andre Ayew. They got him on a free from Marseille and he is really good. He will score goals, is not a typical winger, will get into the box and is lethal in the air, even though he is not tall.”
Henry, who wasn’t shy of finding the back of the net himself after netting over 170 Premier League goals during his career, is a big fan of Ayew and the way Garry Monk’s side play.
After the international break, Swansea travel to Vicarage Road to face newly promoted Watford, looking to build on their excellent start to the new campaign.
