What Will Qualification Mean to Wales & Iceland?
Firstly, Iceland and Wales have never been to a European Championship – so it will be a first for both nations. The Dragons did of course reach the World Cup finals in 1958, and Iceland made the play-offs in World Cup 2014 qualification.
Progression to the finals will no doubt mean the world to both nations, they’ve worked extremely hard to get into the position they’re in at the moment, and they both fully deserve to be top of their respective groups.
And, barring a catastrophic disaster, Williams’ & Taylor’s Wales and Sigurdsson’s Iceland will both be in France next year.
