Garry Monk takes his Swansea City troops to the Stadium of Light this Saturday to take on a struggling Sunderland side.
The Swans have started the new Premier League season in fine style. After earning a more than creditable 2-2 draw at the home of the champions Chelsea on the opening day, Swansea easily swept aside Steve McClaren’s Newcastle United 2-0 at the Liberty Stadium last Saturday.
Monk’s side now travel to Wearside to take on Dick Advocaat’s Sunderland – who have yet to register a Premier League point and have conceded seven goals in their first two games. The Black Cats were beaten 4-2 at Leicester City on the opening day, they then suffered a 3-1 home reverse to newly promoted Norwich City.
Despite being away from home, Swansea are sure favourites to get the three points this weekend. We take a look back at the last three Premier League encounters between the two teams, and try to predict what might happen at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.
