Swansea City kicked off their Barclays Premier League campaign with an excellent 2-2 draw away at the champions Chelsea last Saturday.
Now, Garry Monk and his Swansea side welcome Steve McClaren’s Newcastle United to the Liberty Stadium this weekend. The Magpies started their campaign with a 2-2 draw also. Goals from Papiss Cisse and new signing Georginio Wijnaldum earned Newcastle a respectable draw with Southampton in McClaren’s first game in charge.
Swansea will no doubt be favourites to get the three points over Newcastle this Saturday – Monk’s side matched Chelsea in every position at Stamford Bridge and maybe would have felt slightly disappointed that they didn’t return to South Wales with the victory.
However, nothing is for certain in the Premier League and the Magpies’ new boss will have his side fit and raring to go at the Liberty.
We take a look back at the last three meetings between the two sides and try to predict what the outcome might be this Saturday.
