Garry Monk may have only been in charge of Swansea City for 18 months, but he’s already created plenty of moments that will love in the memories of all Swansea supporters.
Monk, who was Swans captain for seven years during his playing days at the Liberty Stadium, was already a legend amongst the Swansea fans prior to taking over the managerial reigns in South Wales.
The former centre-back struggled to hold down a regular first-team place at any other club before he arrived at Swansea. Monk made the move to the old Vetch Field on a free from Barnsley in 2004, and it has to go down as one of the best bits of business that Huw Jenkins and the board have ever done.
Since then, Garry Monk played 226 league games in all four divisions and he become a central figure in the Swans’ rapid rise from the bottom tier to the promised land.
Monk took over as manager of Swansea in February 2014, and he hasn’t looked back since. We take a look at our top 10 Garry Monk moments since he became Swansea City boss.
