Swansea City boss Garry Monk is extremely pleased with the transfer dealings this summer and he believes the Swans’ current squad of players are the best the club has ever seen.
Swansea have brought in four world-class signings over the summer to add to their already very talented squad. Andre Ayew signed from Marseille, Franck Tabanou arrived from Saint-Etienne, Swedish goalkeeper Kristoffer Nordfeldt signed from Dutch side Heerenveen and Eder made the move to the Liberty Stadium from Braga.
Speaking to South Wales Evening Post, Monk said:
“The new guys have come in and settled well and we have seen signs of what they can bring to us. The other side of that is we have kept hold of the guys who did so well for us last season and that makes this the strongest squad I think Swansea have had.
“I made it clear we could not afford to lose anyone this summer because this is going to be as important a season as this club has ever had with the financial rewards on offer when the new television deal kicks in.
“All these guys are committed to the club and want to help us push on and try to improve on an excellent effort last season. It will not be easy and there is a lot of work for us still to do before the season gets under way, but it is big for us that we will have the strongest possible squad available to us.”
