One-time Arsenal and Liverpool target Sam Byram is reportedly attracting interest from Garry Monk, according to reports.
The 21-year-old Leeds United full-back is rated as one of the best Championship defenders around, and has been tipped with a move to the Premier League on numerous occasions.
Byram, who came through Leeds’ academy, has gone onto make 119 appearances for the Whites, scoring seven times. The Essex-born man has been a regular first-team player for the Yorkshire club since making his debut at the start of the 2012-13 season.
Despite Swansea’s reported interest, Leeds United’s £8m asking price is surely going to be a stumbling block for the Swans. Considering Neil Taylor has recently signed a new and improved deal, as well as Kyle Naughton‘s arrival in January, and Franck Tabanou coming in this summer, a move for the highly-rated Leeds man does seem unlikely.
However, Monk has never been shy to get the chequebook when needed, and this is football, where anything is possible.
