Swansea Join Newcastle & West Ham in Race For Algerian International

Premier League rivals Swansea City, West Ham United and Newcastle United are reportedly ready to go to battle for Sporting Lisbon star Islam Slimani, according to morning reports.

slimaniLisbon will be eager to keep hold of their star man, however Slimani is said to interested in making a move to the Premier League as the next step of his career.

The 27-year-old has been at the Portuguese club since 2013, and has netted 20 goals in 47 league games for Lisbon.

New Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri is also reportedly showing interest in the Algerian star, as clubs are starting to put the finishing touches to their squads ready for the new Premier League campaign which kicks off in just over three weeks times.

Lisbon have reportedly slapped a £7m price tag on their striker – and after the Swans have already completed the signings of attackers Andre Ayew and Eder over the summer, it does seems unlikely that Garry Monk will make a move for Islam Slimani.
