Swansea City boss Garry Monk has revealed that out-of-favour striker Michu “won’t” be in his squad next year.
The Spanish striker, who shot to fame amongst the Swansea fans after a stunning first season with the Swans, returned to the Liberty Stadium earlier in the summer from an unsuccessful spell with Serie A side Napoli.
Despite setting the world alight in his maiden season in South Wales, Michu has undoubtedly gone backwards since – and his Swansea City nightmare is finally coming to an end..
“I spoke to him at this point last season, he wanted to go and felt that was right for him and I was happy to support him in that decision. I now think we have kind of moved on as a squad. We had a big transition last year,”
said the Swans manager.
“From what we hear from their side, I think Michu would like to try to move somewhere else. That’s the impression I get although I haven’t had that conversation with him. He won’t be with the squad this year.”
