Former Arsenal Goalkeeping Coach Enjoying New Life at Swansea

New goalkeeper coach Tony Roberts is enjoying his new life in South Wales and he has revealed how attention to detail is key.

robertsRoberts made the switch to the Liberty Stadium from Arsenal last month, and is currently on tour in Germany with the first-team squad preparing for the new Premier League season. Despite signing a new Gunners contract just six weeks before making the move to South Wales, Roberts revealed how he didn’t have to think too long before making a decision.

“When the opportunity arose to come to Swansea I grabbed it with both hands,’’
said the former Wales international speaking to Swansea’s official website.
“To be honest, even though I enjoyed my time at Arsenal, there wasn’t a lot to think about.”
“I’m a proud Welshman and it was an opportunity for me to work solely with the first team. I coached the first-team at QPR for seven years, but I also combined it with playing, so it was a bit different.”
Roberts has two world-class goalkeepers to work with now, after the highly-rated Swedish stopper Kristoffer Nordfeldt joined the faultless Lukasz Fabianski at the Liberty last month.
